Murdoc-Gorillaz
Greetings friends I give you Murdoc from Gorillaz. This is the third of the four band members i will make during the next months and the end result will create the cover of the "Demon Days" album with also a base to hold all of them. :) Murdoc Faust Niccals (née Murdoc Alphonce Niccals) is the official bass player, self-proclaimed leader and founder of Gorillaz. He is also named after Morgan Nicholls, who is a friend of Jamie Hewlett's and was Gorillaz live bassist during the Demon Days Live performances (though the character is not directly based on him). Murdoc is also loosely based on Damon Albarn himself, with many of the events that happen to Murdoc and things that Murdoc says is loosely based on that of Albarn. "Damon is Murdoc, basically", Hewlett says, "When Damon has an adventure, it tends to happen to Murdoc too". Murdoc was originally going to be a character named "Louie", before evolving into the Hispanic-looking "Salvador Levelle". Interestingly, even Noodle's creation predates Murdoc's, as she is included in the same sketch as Sal with 2-D and "Russell". During the later stages of the band's conceptualisation, he was named "Murdoch", but the "h" was dropped at some point between October and November 2000. He was first publicly referred to as "Murdoc" in the Biography section on the enhanced CD edition of the Tomorrow Comes Today EP, released on 27 November 2000. Murdoc's speaking voice, provided by British comedian and actor Phil Cornwell, is low, rough, and raspy. Despite being from Stoke-on-TrentW, Murdoc speaks in a cockney accentW rather than the Potteries dialectW commonly associated with the region.
